Neves

ShooterPuzzleStrategy
Neves strips the puzzle genre down to its essentials: colored blocks and strategic placement. Each level presents a grid you must fill by rotating and fitting Tetris-like shapes. The brilliance lies in its bite-sized challenges and the constant push for optimization, rewarding quick thinking and foresight to achieve the highest possible scores. Its deceptively simple mechanics keep you hooked, forcing you to constantly re-evaluate your strategy as the shapes and grid layouts become more complex.
Neves (ハメコミ LUCKY PUZZLE DS Hamekomi Rakkī Pazuru Dīesu?) is a puzzle game developed by Yuke's Media Creations for the Nintendo DS, based on the Japanese Lucky Puzzle, a tangram-like dissection puzzle. In the game, players use the stylus to move, rotate and flip pieces on the DS's touch screen to clear puzzles. It features over 500 different puzzles from which to choose. A sequel, Neves Plus (ハメコミ LUCKY PUZZLE Wii Hamekomi Rakkī Pazuru Uī?), was released for WiiWare in Japan on May 26, 2009, in North America on June 22, 2009 and in Europe on June 11, 2010.[1]

If Neves appealed to your logical, spatial reasoning, Picross offers a different kind of grid-based challenge, where every deduction is a step towards revealing a hidden image.

Why recommended

  • Engages players in grid-based logical deduction puzzles, where numbers on the side of a grid indicate how many squares in a row or column must be filled, requiring careful strategic planning.
  • Criteria — Challenging Difficulty is present in larger puzzles and later stages, where complex deductions and error prevention are critical to success.
  • Criteria — Strategy is the entire gameplay loop, as players must use numerical clues to deduce the correct squares to fill, often requiring multi-step logical inferences.
